Enter the Chappaqua Library's first Oscars Prediction Raffle.

Chappaqua is looking into increasing Hoopla usage for Chappaqua patrons but it can't be done until the larger issue of consortium borrows is resolved.

Library advocacy matters because libraries don’t run on goodwill alone—they rely on public support. Advocacy helps protect free and equal access to information, defend intellectual freedom, and secure funding for education, technology, and community programs.

As we approach the end of 2025, I find myself reflecting on the many gifts the Chappaqua Library and this community have given me.

Since my arrival in early 2024, it has become increasingly clear that our beloved building is showing its age—evidenced by the closed courtyard patio, falling ceiling tiles, and inconsistent heating and air conditioning.

This week, we’re proud to join libraries across the country in celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week — a special time to recognize and thank the wonderful Friends of the Chappaqua Library for all that they do.

Book Challenges

October 5–11 is Banned Books Week, a time to celebrate the freedom to read and to spotlight the books that have been challenged in libraries and schools across the country. We're stronger when we stand together for curiosity, conversation, and the right to read freely.

Calling all young Pokémon Trainers! Pokémon have arrived at the library and we need your help to find them!

Recently, sections of the ceiling in the Library Theater loosened and fell. Thankfully, no injuries occurred, but the incident is a clear reminder that our library building is aging and in need of significant care.

The Chappaqua Library is proud to partner with Northwell Health and long time Chappaqua resident Karla Shepard Rubinger, initiator of the original series with the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El, WWW (Wise Wonderful Women of Westchester).

It's a hit! July 2025 was our busiest month ever for the Chappaqua Library's Plant Propagation Program—with over 80 plant cuttings adopted by our patrons!

The competition was fierce, the paddles were flying, and our very own Amy Berger and Julie Ann Polasko came out swinging—landing an impressive 3rd place finish at a ping pong tournament that took place during the 2025 American Library Association Conference in Philadelphia.
