About the Board of Trustees

The Chappaqua Library is governed by five trustees, all unpaid volunteers, who are elected by the Chappaqua Central School District community to serve five-year terms.* The Library Board of Trustees meets monthly and more frequently as needed. The Library complies with New York State Open Meetings Law. Public questions or comments are encouraged to be submitted prior to the Board meeting.

*Note that the Library Board in 2023 has requested a Charter amendment from the Regents of the University of the State of New York granting a change to a 3-year term.

Become a library advocate! The Chappaqua Library is governed by five trustees, all unpaid volunteers, who are elected by the Chappaqua Central School District community to serve five-year terms*. Interested candidates submit a petition of signatures to the Chappaqua Central School District office by April. Elections are held in May and new terms begin at the start of the fiscal year in July.
