Featured Musicians
Mary Ann McSweeney (bass, composer) has performed with jazz legends including Dizzy Gillespie, Joanne Brackeen, Lee Konitz, and Bucky Pizzarelli, and has appeared under the direction of renowned conductors such as Leonard Bernstein.
Janice Friedman (piano) has been performing, accompanying, and teaching since her early teens. Her extensive credits include work with the Buddy Rich Big Band, Slide Hampton, and Billy Higgins, among many others.
Kim Peralta (drums) is the founder of Jazzwomen and a lifelong musician and bandleader who is now fully devoted to jazz drums. She studied in Cuba with drummer Alejandro Aguiar Rodriguez at the Havana Music School from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, she joined the SUNY Jazz Ensemble under music director, pianist, and composer Chris Parker, departing in 2024 to focus on developing her own jazz projects.
