A graphic novel discussion group for 4th, 5th and 6th graders: read the book at home, then talk about it together, with snacks.  UPDATE: The book for October is Tales of a Seventh Grade Lizard Boy by Jonathan Hill. "Threatened with diminishing resources, Booger Lizk’t and his family flee their lizard community deep below Earth’s crust to survive above among humans." Middle school is hard enough--how do you survive when you have such a big secret--especially when a popular sci fi TV show has everyone terrified of "the lizard people"? 
 

This graphic novel is suspenseful and funny, and may make you think about fitting in and being a loyal friend.
