Chappaqua Library presents an author event with Colm Tóibín at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center.

Colm Tóibín will be discussing his newest short story collection, The News From Dublin: Stories, featuring tales of longing, family, and life away from home.

Colm Tóibín is the author of eleven novels, including Long Island, an Oprah’s Book Club Pick; The Magician, winner of the Rathbones Folio Prize; The Master, winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; Brooklyn, winner of the Costa Book Award; and Nora Webster, winner of the Hawthornden Prize, as well as three story collections and several books of criticism. He is the Irene and Sidney B. Silverman Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University and was named the 2022–2024 Laureate for Irish Fiction by the Arts Council of Ireland. In 2021, he was awarded the David Cohen Prize for Literature.

Where is the program being held?

  • Offsite at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center at 480 N. Bedford Rd, Chappaqua, NY. 
  • Although the program is presented and organized by the Library, it will take place at an offsite location in town, to better accommodate this special event.

Do I need to register or get a ticket?

  • No. Tickets and registration are not required.

 How does seating work?

  • Seating will be first come, first served on the day of the event. Doors open at 6:30pm.

How much does it cost to attend?

  • This even is free and open to the public, as are all Chappaqua Library programs.

What happens if the venue reaches capacity?

  • Because seating is limited to the capacity of the venue, entry cannot be guaranteed once the space is full. We recommend arriving early if you would like to attend.
