Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson — opening February 10.
Featuring 100 works, this exhibition highlights how Wilson called attention to racial, social, and economic injustices through his art. Challenging both biases and omissions, Wilson explored subjects including anti-Black violence, the civil rights movement, labor, and family life.

Emily Sargent: Portrait of a Family — through March 8, 2026, at The Met.
This exhibition brings Emily Sargent’s luminous work into focus, situating it within the complex world of the Sargent family. The show features watercolors by Emily Sargent (1857–1936), her older brother, the renowned John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), and their mother, Mary Newbold Sargent (1826–1906).
