WE'RE PLAYING IN THE STACKS!
The Friends of the Chappaqua Library are looking for original ten-minute comedies about libraries for an evening of staged readings in October.
Do you like to read out loud? Do you like plays? Do you like to laugh? Then we need your help!
Come join us and some of your neighbors for one, two or three very informal, fun "readers circles" where we spend an hour or so "test driving" new short comedies by reading them aloud to each other. No experience necessary!
The Play Readers Circle will help select the winning plays for the Dewey Decimal Festival, a ten-minute original play festival of comedies about libraries. Winning plays will be performed on October 18 2014 in the Chappaqua Library Theatre, to benefit the Friends of the Chappaqua Library.
We need listeners as well, to help hear whether the comedy works on stage as well as on the page. You could be the first audience ever to hear some of these brand new plays.
All participants will be asked to fill out a short rating form and we will tally votes as to which plays are ready to make their Chappaqua Library Theatre debut.
Three sessions are scheduled, and you can participate in 1, 2 or all of them. Please join us, and tell your friends.
1. Sunday, May 18th, noon-2.30 pm in the Children's Program Room.
2. Sunday June 15th, Chappaqua Library Theatre, 10.30-12.30.
3. Saturday, July 12th, 1 pm -3 2pm in the Chappaqua Library Theatre.
or the Info Desk at the Library
or just show up (June and July only)!
