LENS the Newsletter of the Chappaqua Library
Dear [FIRSTNAME],
Welcome to issue [ISSUENB] of LENS - the newsletter of the Chappaqua Library.
Special Events at the Chappaqua Library:

More Downloadable eBooks
Ereaders were popular gifts this past holiday season, and we've noticed the demand for ebooks is growing. We have been offering both ebooks and downloadable audiobooks through OverDrive, a service provided by the Westchester Library System. But the library has decided to actively collect in this format, and we've recently added our first 40 titles. We've chosen additional copies of bestsellers by John Grisham, Patricia Cornwell and Stieg Larsson, as well as titles by perennial favorites such as Malcolm Gladwell and Oliver Sacks. We've also chosen a few unique titles, just owned by us: Gary Shteyngart's hilariously satirical Super Sad True Love Story and Bob Dylan in America by cultural and political historian Sean Wilentz. These are tagged as ADVANTAGE titles by an orange and yellow symbol in the lower right corner of the record. These will be available to Chappaqua residents first, which should cut down the waiting time significantly for popular titles.

Click on the OverDrive link on our website for download instruction and a list of compatible devices. Reference librarians are willing to help too; call them at 238-4779 x2.

Career and Educational Counseling
We are again offering a free eight-week seminar for adults, beginning in March, called Take Charge! Career/Life Planning Over 50. Offered in conjunction with the Westchester Library System WEBS, the purpose of this program is to help older adults assess themselves and plan a direction for the next stage of life. Call WEBS directly at 674-3612 to register.
AARP Tax Help
Members of the AARP will be offering tax help at the library on Wednesdays from February 9 through April 13, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please be sure to bring all pertinent tax information (W-2s, 1099s, and a copy of last year’s income tax return) and your Social Security card or other official documentation for yourself and all dependents.
Used Eyeglasses Being Collected
During the months of February, March and April, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will be collecting used eyeglasses, which the Lions Club will then distribute to various charities. There will be a box in the lobby for this purpose.
