An ongoing book discussion group for kids in grades 4 - 6. Critics meets monthly from September to May for great books, good conversation and delightful snacks. Please REGISTER in person at the Children’s Room desk. Our motto is "Everyone’s entitled to MY opinion!"

Chappaqua Challenge
Congratulations to the following students, who took part in the Chappaqua Challenge at the Chappaqua Library on March 1st: The students formed teams and started reading from a list of 12 books in November. For the Challenge, they both created and answered questions about the books. Participants were rewarded with an ice cream party and gift certificates to Borders Books in Mount Kisco. The popular annual program for grades 4-6 was sponsored by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library. Tara Anand

Turn fruits and vegetables into insects. Make a string bean mantis or cherry ants. Your edible insects will be on dispaly at the library on 6/13 and 6/14 for the Chappaqua Garden Club Flower Show.

The Joan Schlanger Memorial Concert opens the annual summer storytelling series. Melissa Heckler, who actually initiated Midsummer Tales twenty-six years ago with Kay Nelson, will be this summer's first storyteller.

Leave your mark on the Library! Decorate a 3D clay tile with your favorite story characters. Session 1 on June 28th: Sculpt a tile. Session 2 on July 12th: Paint your tiles with glazes. The tiles will be installed outside the library in September.
